Tuesday, April 1, 2008 - Firefighter Appreciation Day Visit

Firefighter Appreciation Day was celebrated at the station today with a surprise visit from the pre kindergarten students from The Childs Nest Pre School. The members on duty were treated with a big thank you and a box of donuts. Following a station tour and fire prevention skills review, the students sat for a group picture.

     


Saturday March 29, 2008 - 102nd Annual Sharon Hill Fire Company Banquet Honors

Monday March 24, 2008- The officers and members wish Seth Toy best of luck at boot camp. Seth has enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Seth will be gone until May 16th, 2008. H e will be missed by all the members of the Folcroft Fire Company.


Saturday March 15, 2008 - 105th Annual Fire Company Banquet

The Folcroft Fire Company held the 105th Annual Awards banquette at the station hall. Dinner and dancing went on till the wee hours of the morning. The following were presented awards:

Thursday December 20, 2007- The Rescue Company assisted Folcroft Technical School “Emergency and Protective Services Class” with their annual emergency service skill event. The event allows high school students to witness the outcome of a traumatic vehicle collision and criminal procedures employed after such event. Students participated as rescuers, law enforcement, and victims for the simulation. Rescue 01 and Ambulance 01 conducted medical assessment and extrication operations while Engine 01 manned the landing zone for Penn Star 2. Also assisting were Folcroft Police, Mercy Medic 105, Delaware County Corner, and CCMC Hazmat Team Manager.


Tuesday December 11,2007- For the weekly drill Folcroft Fire Company invited Glenolden Fire Department (Station 05) to drill together on large area searches. The crews were under the direction of Bill Matthews (01-9B), Dave Cook (01-9A) and Jason Whelan (05-12). Crews were split up into pairs and were drilling on the proper way of doing right and left handed searches in a large area. The drill was held at the Folcroft Fire Company's lower hall. The drill was a great learning and refresher to the firefighters. In all it was a great night and the companies worked well together. We look forward to drilling together in the future.

  


Saturday Decemember 08,2007- Four members traveled up to Springfield Ambulance Corps. (Station 44-7)to cover for there annual banquet.  It started out early by both ambulance running an accident call on Baltimore in front of Drexel Hill Furniture. A total of 6 patients were transported by both ambulances. After that that the crews enjoyed a good dinner from Thunderbird Pizza. After that the crew of 44-7 ran a medical call at Marple Crossroads Shopping Center.


Tuesday November 27, 2007- For the weekly drill Rescue 01 and 01-2 traveled the the training center for a drill on basic vehicle extraction . The drill was ran by Bill Matthews (01-9B) and Dave Cook (01-9A) the crews practiced different extraction techniques with the jaws of life and O tool. All in all it was a good night of training.


   Saturday, October 13, 2007- The Folcroft Fire Company traveled to Upper Chichester, Pa for the annual Delaware County Fireman's Assoc. Convention. The fire company took with them TeleSquirt 01, Rescue 01 and Ambulance 01. The company was one of the first fire companies to arrive to get judge. The members of the company rode in the parade to Reliance Hook and Ladder Company's Firehouse. It was Reliance's 75th anniversary. While the companies waited to see if the won anything the member enjoyed a great time with the other fire companies of the county. Folcroft Fire Company won two trophies for the day. And they were 2nd place Best and Most functional Tele Squirt and 1st place for best appearing Yellow fire truck company. The Folcroft Fire Company would like to thank Bridgeport Fire Company from Gloucester County, NJ. They ran one call for the day and it was a building fire in Sharon Hill's local units were recalled by 09 command.

            


Monday, October 1, 2007- The Officers and Members of Folcroft Fire Co. would like to extend their thoughts and prayers to the family of Michael Reagan and members of the Holmes (Station 43) & Sharon Hill (Station 09) Fire Companies. Firefighter Mike Reagan succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Firefighter Reagan was injured during a collapse while operating at a garage fire on Wednesday evening. He passed a few days later in the hospital. This is a very tragic incident that happened. Please continue to keep all those involved in your prayers. If there is anything that may be needed, don’t hesitate to call.
